The New Testament and Judaism

This presentation, based on the Yinger Family Lecture, which was delivered by Dr. Isaac Oliver on April 29, 2025, at Albion College, deals with the depiction of Jesus' execution in the Gospels, the Talmud, and the Quran.

This presentation was delivered (remotely) by Dr. Isaac W. Oliver/de Oliveira on September 5, 2024 for the Convegno of the Associazione Biblica Italiana, which was held at the Collegio Universitario Villa San Giacomo in Bologna. The topic of this convention was the restoration of Israel within early Christianity. In this presentation, Dr. Oliver discusses the identity of Israel in Luke and Acts in the context of Second Temple and early rabbinic texts and traditions, before considering some of the implications for Jewish-Christian relations.
